Hate to break it to you, but Dave Ramsey was wrong. Credit cards are not evil, and are in fact quite beneficial tools in building wealth if used correctly. Dave Ramsey advocates paying yourself first, which I completely agree with, however I believe that it is necessary to take it a step further, and begin building credit as well. With 78% of Americans living paycheck to paycheck, if you want to buy a house, you will need a mortgage. If you want the lowest possible interest rate on a mortgage, you need good credit.
