I met a mortgage broker from Vancouver who was surprised to hear that you can qualify for a mortgage in the U.S. as a non-permanent citizen. As long as you are living and working in the U.S. with a valid Visa, you can obtain a mortgage at the same interest rates as U.S. Citizens. \r

Non-Permanent Resident Alien requirements:\r

Must have unexpired Visa\r
Must have a SSN or ITIN \r
Must be living and working in the U.S.\r
No restrictions on LTV, occupancy type or program on conforming loans. Some jumbo programs will require 20% down payment\r

If you are living and working abroad, you may qualify to take out a mortgage with 30% or more down payment on our Foreign National program. The rates is a little higher on this program. \r
