I have been in the mortgage industry for most of my life. Both employed and self-employed.
I opened my own mortgage broker business all the way back in 2006. Its so easy when you own a business to just grab any leads and clients you can get a hold of. However, it is not the best wat to position yourself in the long term.
You need to find your niche. Why do people come to you rather than someone else?
I faced this problem for many years, and it wasn’t till 2015 when I was buying my own home as a self-employed individual that it dawned on me. The stress I went through was too much and I, so I wanted to help other avoid that stress. So, I become the self-employed mortgage broker.
Now a few years down the line I am regarded as the number #1 self employed mortgage broker and the self-employed mortgage expert. I don’t say this to brag, I say this so you can see whole beneficial niching is!
