The most important lesson I learned early on in business is that we don't trade time for money-we trade value for money! The signing agents who want to trade Mortgage! Mortgage loans! What are closing costs? Do all mortgage loans have them? Why are there so many closing costs? Are all mortgage loans like this?. Bill Anderson, Vice President of Legislative Affairs for the National Notary Association, spoke with Notaries, via Skype, in Indiana during a Notary Public Day .

Hey guys, it's Bill with notarycoach.com. Again, I wanna talk a little bit about being a person of value for your clients. It makes a huge difference if you're somebody that has proven themselves to be somebody of integrity and someone they can count on when things don't go right. That could happen with some of your files. That could happen with other people's file. That's what I wanna talk a little bit about today because I was just contacted by one of my big clients that send me probably 20 to 30 loans a month, and they had another notary who just was not able to perform the duties of their role very well. They've missed 30 pages of signatures and then became uncooperative with trying to make that right or repair it. Having the relationship that I have with them, they reached out to me to see if I can fix it.

Of course, I was eager to do so, even the compensation may not quite balance out to the amount of effort that goes into it, I think that's gonna pay off 10-fold in the long run. Not only do we get this particular problem solved, I've also offered some coaching and assistance on the other notary's part, to get him up to speed and make sure that he doesn't lose a significant chain of revenue in his life too, just because of one particular mistake.

No matter what you do, every moment, every loan package, every interaction with your clients is a chance to build a relationship and to make yourself a person of value to them. You never know what kind of opportunities are gonna come up to serve, so always be open and looking for those, and always, of course, come from an authentic place. You're not always just trying to better your own situation, but you're trying to make the whole situation better for everybody involved.
